Crane Upgrade

Project started in 1999
Project completed in 2003
Project Type: Industrial
Owner: Heavy Manufacturing Company
Location: Renton, WA
Contract Amount: $14 Million
Designer: Skilling, Ward, Magnusson, Barkshire

Over a four year period, General Construction made improvements to upgrade and update cranes in this Renton factory. Over 100 crane rails were replaced and all crane rails were re-aligned. In the main assembly building, we removed, rebuilt and reinstalled crane bridges. Electrical systems were upgraded, including new safety interlocks and new bridge drives. All cranes serve active production areas so coordination and scheduling were critical to allow ongoing operations throughout this project.
