General Construction installed 1,500 lin ft of cable tray, five miles of CLX cable, a 15kV switchgear, and 2,300V & 480V substations while mill operations continued normally. As new equipment was brought on line, existing antiquated equipment and feeders were removed from service without interruption to production.
General Construction installed new variable frequency AC drives, motors and a new wet dust collection system. We modified building structural steel to support additional loads from the new equipment. The majority of work was done during a 12 day outage, with shifts of over 100 craftsmen working around the clock.
All work on this project was done during an eighteen day shutdown. The scope of work included demolition of existing structures, piping, equipment bases and the salvage of equipment. General Construction direct hired and managed craft labor for the civil, structural, equipment setting and piping work.
